Ignition – Work & Study Skills Programme
Rediscover your path to career or study success
Join our PEAP Ministry of Social Development (MSD) approved programme, and take the first steps towards re-engaging with employment.
Develop soft skills to increase confidence with interviews, setting career pathways, advice on employment issues, health and safety in the workplace, employability skills, and more.
Our programme will also support participants with relevant work readiness costs including upgrading drivers licenses, buying work related gear and more.
Duration and study options:
This course is available for full-time study with 4 weeks of career and study pathway, then up to 12 weeks of work readiness.
Entry requirements:
To join this course you must be aged 18 or older and of Pacific descent. You must also be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident, and either unemployed, employed part-time or looking for a career change.
Teaching style:
Prepare for a new career at our OCA campus:
- Group facilitation
- On-on-one assistance and mentoring
- Offsite employment related training
- Placement into employment
What will I learn?
- Develop the skills and confidence to successfully transition into the building or social services sectors
- Get employment related industry-specific Certificates: Site Safe, Construct Safe, Confined Spaces, Wheels Tracks & Rollers, Elevated Work Platform, Traffic Management Certificates, First Aid etc.
- Develop in demand soft skills – punctuality, reliability, and teamwork.
